Project Summary:
Working at the ad agency SUCCARRA in college was one of the most interesting experiences I’ve had. This fast paced, high-intensity work environment had more a feel of New York City than Boston about it, and I loved how they pushed my limits.
Every piece I designed for SUCCARRA and their clients were consistent with their brand voice. They were heavy on white space, minimalist, showcasing the gorgeous jewelry and not distracting your attention with the design of the page. It was an experience that showed me exactly how design was meant to be used.

Project Summary:
Make with Mohawk Print Set 02 is the second in a three-part series pairing specific printing processes with select Mohawk papers. For this set, Mohawk Via Vellum Digital with i-Tone® is paired with HP Indigo digital printing. Printed in-house at the Mohawk Innovation center, Print Set 02 utilizes white ink for the second print in the set on Via Vellum Light Grey, with a gorgeous print by Kennett Mohrman.
The Mohawk Innovation Center did not have a pre-press department at the time of this printing, so and after my successes with pre-press work for both Cobalt and Carnival + Via, it was only natural that I should do pre-press for this project as well. Printing with white ink is both an underutilized tool and an amazing way to show depth of color on any colored paper. We tried many different iterations, both with white ink on black paper, black ink only, a CMYK blend, with masking and without masking and with multiple hits of every combination of ink you could think of…. I had about a hundred different iterations of this piece sitting on my desk. Working with our pressman, we came up with a way to successfully show the benefits of digital printing with white ink on the beautifully rough textured Via Vellum. A true collaboration!

Project Proposal:
Create a typographic layout to visually and verbally interpret the spirit of a selected poem or song as you understand it. The final solution will be in book form and the overall form of the book (both the outside and inside) will need to coincide with the interpretation of the inside pages.
Skills Involved:
Layout Design, Image Manipulation, Printing, Hand Binding
Final Result:
Written in 1925 by T.S. Eliot, The Hollow Men, is considered to be an appendage to The Waste Land, a poem written in 1922. The depth and meaning of these poems give an interesting perspective on the human condition. Grouping the poem into stanzas, you can reflect on humanity through the passage of time, from youth through death and into rebirth.
The entirety of this project is based around nature; the typeface, paper, binding, even the grid structure were selected with care to remind the reader about the impact that nature - and therefore the lack of nature - would have on society. The poem itself, the very subject matter cannot be denied in it's power to invoke images of destruction.
This book was created, printed, and bound with this thought in mind. Each page was carefully laid out to give the reader the maximum impact of the words on that page. The tri-fold design forces the viewer to think carefully about their next move; each page must be unfolded and refolded carefully before passing on to the next. Just as each line of the poem must be considered carefully before the full meaning cane be understood.

Project Summary:
The challenge in creating a brand new corporate profile and website for Methods Machine Tools, Inc., involved designing an aesthetically pleasing layout with concise information, while also satisfying managers for 6 different manufacturer lines, as well as corporate upper management. It needed to be informational, captivating, and also reusable in multiple applications.
Using corporate branding guidelines, infused with modern design, and compromising between typography and imagery, the final layout achieved all of these challenges. Multiple original layouts were very text heavy; paring down the text allowed for more design freedom. It was published in August of 2016, and made it to the desks of over 30,000 subscribers to Manufacturing Engineering Magazine, as well as having and additionally 10,000 copies distributed at the International Manufacturing Trade Show in Chicago, Illinois, in that same year.

Well known across the industry, MetalStorm is a bi-annual open house hosted by Methods Machine Tools, Inc., to raise awareness in the manufacturing industry about recent developments in technology, bring in new customers, and showcase new machines.
In 2016-2017, the advances in machining and manufacturing technology radically changed the landscape and future of the industry. To reflect these advances, the entire theme of MetalStorm was updated and redesigned, keeping not only Methods branding intact, but also the roots of the event, which was started in 1998.
